Long before I started making jewelry, I was a writer. I still am, in a sense, but there was a time when my main creative outlet was writing. As so often happens, when I started writing in a professional context; as a corporate writer and copywriter, I lost the love of writing for fun. This is why I don’t want to design jewelry for a living – I love it too much!).
I went through an intense stage of development with my writing after I took a six month trip across Africa in 1996/97. I had so many tales to tell of my adventure on that trip, and subsequent life living in England and France. So I endeavored to learn more about writing, and travel writing in particular.
I took courses, read books and wrote…and wrote….and wrote.
I strongly believe that writing is like anything you practice – you will get better at it. I can look back work I had published 10-15 years ago and think ‘wow, I could do so much better now’.
I dabbled with many styles of writing, from poetry to travel writing to romance writing. When the mood is right and the stars are aligned, I love to write fiction. But most of all I love to write about my accounts and experiences in travel to different countries.
This page serves as the central portal into my written world. Enjoy!
